Munster and East Cork Junior B Football Championships
The host Club, Knockaderry have now contacted us to say that we will be out shortly in the Munster Junior B Football Championship. Tipperary and Kerry winners will be known this weekend and with Castlelyons in Cork and believe it or not Cratloe have made it through in Clare this could be a great Championship.
So no doubt our lads are concentrating on the football now and training. As we said before it will shorten the winter and keep em fit.
However, in the East Cork JBFC we are now fixed to play the winners of Youghal/ Carrignavar on Saturday 8thNovember at a venue TBC. This will be a tough game as both these teams are going well this year.
We wish our star forward Alan Fenton a speedy recovery from a recent appendicitis operation and hope he will be with us soon again as he always gets on the end of things at the right time.
AGM Castlelyons GAA Club
The AGM of Castlelyons GAA Club will be held on Sat 15th Nov @ 8.00 pm. This meeting is open to all and full members can make nominations, recommendations and vote on motions discussed.
This is the most important meeting of the year where everyone, players, members and supporters are welcome to come along and have their say and offer any ideas or suggestions on how the club should move forward for the next twelve months months.
Congratulations to Fermoy Intermediate Hurlers.
Congratulations and well done to our neighbors the Fermoy hurlers who won the County Intermediate Hurling Championship by defeating Charleville last Sunday. They will now play in the Premier Intermediate Grade next year joining their near neighbors on the northern side Kilworth and, of course, the draw for the Premier Championship will be interesting as the chances of a local derby are increasing. We congratulate the players and their mentors who have worked so hard over the last two years and especially to midfielder Kieran Morrisson whoâs Dad Joe Morrisson was originally from Ballydorgan in the Castlelyons Parish. There were so many heroes but it is very nice to see Darragh Carroll have such a great year and final as he had to make such effort in rehab earlier this year after an operation.
East Cork Scór na nÃg â Friday 14th November, 2014, 7.30 pm at Lisgoold Hall
The Scór na nÃg Finals will be held at Lisgoold Hall On Friday night the 14th November at 7.30pm. The promotion of Scór at adult and juvenile plays an important part in keeping our culture and heritage alive and well. Juveniles and adults in our Club are afforded the opportunity to interact with the best of Irish culture.
Indeed, Scór can really add to the overall value of the Club unit as people can take part in music, song and dance that may not be able to take part in the sporting side of our games. So to club officers, team managers and, likewise camogie this is your opportunity to promote greater interest in the Club among the community.
We are commencing Scór this year with the Scór na nÃg Competition (13 years to Under 17 in 2015). It would be if some teens made themselves available for this competition so please contact Kieran McGann at 0867773100. Posters and Application Forms have been forwarded already to Juvenile and Adult Club and to all Team Managers. So letâs take on East Cork. Castlelyons Abú.
