Our U13 Camogie Girls Qualify For Final

Castlelyons U13 Camogie team qualified for the final of the Imokilly summer competition on Tuesday 11th August after beating Cobh. The match was played in Castlelyons, as a result of Castlelyons winning their group to qualifying for semi-final. In front of a large attendance both teams served up a trilling tough encounter with all players giving everything.

Castlelyons struggled at times with the physicality of our opponents. Continuous hooking and blocking by both teams resulted in a very competitive game. Through heart and determination we took the lead, a lead which we held to the finish. Cobh were our toughest opponents to date and credit to our girls they fought for every ball and applied continuous pressure.

On the final whistle Castlelyons ran out winners with each and every girl having to play to their full potential. The club would like to congratulate the girls on reaching the final and hopefully they will get their reward for the hard hours each and every girl has given this year to date.

Our opponents will be St Catherine’s in the final, date and venue to be confirmed. The club would like to wish our U12 team all the best in their quarter final of the county v Grenagh in Castlelyons on Thursday 20th August.

U15 Continue Winning Streak

On Monday 17th August our U15 team registered a win over Erin’s Own in Caherlag. The girls played exceptionally well throughout the game with fine displays by all involved. On the night we had a number of absentees which resulted in a number of changes in position but credit to the girls they took to the challenge admirably. Our next match will be at home on Monday 24th v Cobh at 7.00pm. Keep up the good work.
