To the best of our knowledge, these boys are the first team in Castlelyons history to, not only win the Rebel Og 2016 U16C East Championship, but to go on to a County Final. They were due to play Doneraile in the semi-final, however Doneraile conceeded due to lack of numbers on the day and Castlelyons went straight through to the Final.

The County Final was played on Friday night last and was an absolute cracking game. James O Neill and Mark O Flynn prepared the boys for the tough test against Buttevant, and tough it was. The match was point to point for the majority of the game, however Doneraile scored a goal in the 26th minute of the second half, to lead by three points. Our boys, never ones to shy away from a challange, kept their heads high and battled to the 36th minute, when Conor Mc Carthy scored a superb goal from a free levelling the sides. On that goal, the ref blew the final whistle, and we came away with a more than deserved draw!

So please, we would ask everyone who can make it, to come out and show your support for our boys on Saturday. Never was a saying more true "Nothing Beats Being There"...
