Ciara O Brien Memorial Tournament an outstanding success

Under 8 Go Blitz Camogie Girls in Ballincollig.U6/U8 – No training this week as Cul Camp is on. 15 of our U8 girls travelled to Ballincollig last Saturday for the last Go Games Blitz. We put out 2 teams on the day, each with a mixture of U8’s, 7’s & 6’s. 

We accounted for Ballincollig and Glen Rovers on the day but went down to Eire Og who have big numbers on the age. Thanks to Ballincollig for a very well organised blitz and for the Goodie Bags for the girls.

U10 – These girls continue training twice a week with parents being notified by text. Go Games for this age group continue with provisional dates as follows: TBC: Away v Castlemartyr; TBC: Home v Aghada; Tuesday 14/7: Home v Cobh; Tuesday 21/7: Away v Carrigtwohill.

U13 – Our U13 girls played their first Imokilly U13 league match last Tuesday night against Erin’s Own in Castlelyons. Full report will follow next week.

Junior – The annual Ciara O' Brien Memorial Tournament took place last Saturday the 27th of June.  It was an outstanding success and played on a lovely day.  There is no report to date but there will be a  full report will follow next week.

Our tuck shop is continuing at all home matches – tea/coffee/minerals/chocolate/crisps are all available to purchase at great prices so please support. We would like to thank Triace for the loan of their pop-up marquee which has been very helpful.

The 2015 Cul Camp is taking place this week with record numbers attending. There are 162 at the Cul Camp with 79 girls attending. We hope everyone is enjoying the week.

We will be hosting a Camogie Monster Blitz on Sunday the 12th July as a fundraiser for the club with details to be advised over the next week. This will consist of blitz’s for U7/U8/U9/U10 teams with all local teams travelling to support our fundraising initiative. The day will start at 11am and their will also be food and entertainment on the day with the favourite barrel train, Daisy the Cow, hot food, tea tent, tuck shop, face and nail painting and loads of other activities. We will also be holding a team challenge event on the day with teams consisting of one member from each of the U12, U14, Minor and Junior panels pitted against each other in fun and challenging activities with prizes for the winners and spot prizes throughout. As the day is a fundraiser for the club there will be an entrance fee of €1 per adult which will also entitle everyone to free entry for our monster raffle on the day. We hope everyone can come along and support the club on the day. We want to thank all the local businesses who are again sponsoring elements of this day.

Our “second summer clothes collection” takes place this Friday the 3rd July from 2-4pm and 6-8pm in the youth café. We will accept clothes, handbags, belts, bedding, towels, shoes and curtains. All proceeds will go towards the purchase of a new set of jerseys for our U10’s

We would ask all parents to try and support the club lotto with tickets available to purchase at training nights.

Castlelyons Camogie Club needs your help. We have a blue token dispenser in Tesco Midleton and we are asking you to call in with your blue tokens to get the club into the lead so we can be in with a chance to win a 1000 Euros! The club with the most tokens will be awarded the prize every six weeks. Tokens can be got in any Tesco store and put into the blue dispenser in Tesco Midleton.
