History now but what an evening in Waterford 2014-07-17 22:07:00

Congrats and Well Done

Colm Spillane in full flight down the wing in the Munster U21 Hurling Semi FinalTo our three young men who performed so well in Walsh Park in making a memorable contribution in gaining a much need victory for Cork Under 21 Hurling over a more fancied Waterford Team.

This victory is history now. The Munster Under 21 Hurling will be played in Ennis this year on Wednesday 30th July at 7.30pm and as in all sport all must rise to this level of performance again and there is the question of a fancied Clare team this time.  However, as Vince Lombard said "Winning is a habit, unfortunately so is losing" and this year the Cork U21 Hurling Team and Management have made such an  effort winning can be a habit again.

A special thanks to all the Castlelyons supporters who travelled to Walsh Park last evening.  They were all about the place surely we got value for their money on this occasion.  So be get ready for Ennis and  you could lower the Banner. Let it be the "Castlelyons Shout".

"Centre Forward Colm Spillane kept the scoreboard ticking over for Cork" -  Irish Examiner.  He must have felt at home as he goes down the wing see how many you know outside the fence?

"Wing back Cormac Murphy saw Red but this did no deter the rampant Rebels as Spillane buried his second goal" - Irish Independent.

"Anchored by Colm Barry and Captain Cillian Burke down the middle, that defence bolstered by the deep-lying midfielders" - Irish Examiner

It's not that far from here to Clare to no doubt you'll be there to cheer the lad on again.
