Castlelyons Juvenile GAA Club Notes: 05.06.2018 2018-06-08 10:46:00

Kelloggs Cul Camp;

With the sun shining and the school summer holidays almost upon us, it can only mean one thing – Cul Camp season.

Our camp this year will be run from Monday July 2nd to Friday July 6th. It will be run for boys and girls aged 6-13 and will be run by a great team of coaches with the emphasis on providing an action packed, fun filled week for the children.

Due to the camps huge success and large numbers in 2017, we would urge parents to register children over the coming weeks to ensure your child’s place in the camp this year. You can register your son/daughter online immediately at www.gaa.ie/kelloggsculcamps.

Alternatively, Cul Camp registrations forms are available from Dave Hegarty and Orla Hallihan. The cost of the camp is €60 for the First Child, €50 for the Second and €40 for the third and subsequent children.

Every child will receive a training top, jersey and gear bag.

Closing date for registrations is Monday June 25th so make sure to avoid disappointment, that you book your place before this date. Registering before this date, ensures your child’s gear will have arrived for the first day of camp. Late registrations can result in a delay of the gear being delivered.

Club Lotto;

We would encourage all our supporters and players to play the lotto weekly. Tickets are only €2 each and with an upcoming jackpot of €8,800, it could be very worth your while playing.

The Lotto draw plays a huge part in the Clubs Annual Fundraising efforts. All three clubs benefit hugely from the Lotto throughout the year.

Tickets can be purchased from Centra Post Office, Murphy’s Vehicle Repairs, Glanbia, Sharon’s Hair Design, The Abbey Tavern and local promoters. Alternatively you can play online – please see our club website for more details www.castlelyonsgaa.com.

Email us your pictures;

We have an email account where parents can send us any pictures they want us to have that they may have taken at matches, blitz events, training etc.

It is a great way to contribute for parents and ensures that we have a team photograph from matches to go with the PRO reports. Please send any pictures to castlelyonspro@gmail.com and we will share them on the Juvenile Club Notice Board outside the Community Centre, on our Facebook page and on the Avondhu.

Cork Stars;

This time last year, we were saying congratulations and well done to Colm Spillane who had a fantastic game wearing the county jersey with Cork against Tipperary. Last weekend was no different, again with Colm putting in a great performance against Limerick. He is a great role model for our club and younger players.

We must also congratulate Ellie O Brien, who was chosen as part of the Cork Primary Schools Camogie team and also played in Cork on Saturday. A great achievement for Ellie, her family, club and school. Well Done Ellie. We hope this is the first great accolade of many to come.
